Aloha Everyone,
We only have 14 more days until paradise!!! These last 2
weeks of classes were so stressful, but the thought of hot
weather, the beach, and good food made me more motivated to
just get it done. It just dawn on me today that Hawaii has a
4 hour time difference. I don't know about you, but sleep
is very important to me and I hope my body gets well
adjusted to the time zone in reasonable amount of time.
I'm already bummed thinking about how I am not going to be
able to sleep going into the New Year, since we Hartford
people have to be on the plane at 6am. But at the end, it is
all worth it and I'll trade all the sleep in the world to
visit Hawaii. I'm so looking forward to see what everyone
is talking about when the talk about Hawaii. The beautiful
beaches, beautiful people, the peaceful vibe, and the food
(most important). I'm also shocked about how Hawaiian
native people are being treated. It kind of makes me sad how
people can be so deprived in the country. I can't wait to
learn more and get all my questions answer. This is a once
and a lifetime experience and I'm so looking forward to
see you all in 14 days.

I definitely agree with Javianna with all her excitement for our new adventure. The thought of being in hot weather for 2+ weeks while my family and friends are in the freezing cold makes me realize how fortunate I am to go to Hawaii. Today I went to Hawaii's tourism website to check the weather,it's 75 degrees! It's unbelievable! This week has been beyond stressful with exams but everyday I pass by a classmate that will be going with me to Hawaii and we end up chatting about going to the beach, learning about the language and culture and enjoying all of the beautiful scenery it has to offer. It makes the day seem brighter. The thought of making friends with new people while being in Hawaii is an awesome experience. I know that I wouldn't have met these people if it wasn't for this chance of a lifetime. Every time the words Hawaii come out of my mouth, it makes me realize how soon it really is, and it is getting more realistic. I cannot wait for all the activities and lectures we will be going too! The thought of more classes after the end of a semester would usually make me upset but just knowing what kind of things we will be learning such as Hawaiian dancing and language is unreal. I also cant wait to room with Austy! We have become close this year since we had Social Justice Honors Seminar together and the thought of a tropical trip with a good friend is reassuring. I know the memories made on this trip will be unforgettable, I better not forget my camera! The anticipation is killing me! See everyone in less than 2 weeks! -Larisa
